Experience:

  • UAE quantity surveying experience within the design and construction phases of projects is required
  • Knowledge and understanding of the component parts of a project and overall construction costs

Project Leadership:

  • Providing guidance, leadership and technical expertise to team members
  • Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors
  • Take a leadership role in coordinating the quantity surveying activities for large and complex construction projects.
  • Lead the delivery of project deliverables and coordinate with Clients and other Consultants
  • Fully understand services to be provided and resource requirements.
  • Generating repeat business.
  • Ensuring all QSHE assurance and management principles are applied.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and initiates trainings required to improve.
  • Involves in identifying staff suitable for a certain position.
  • Leading the team to enable a strongly motivated, engaged and high performing staff.

Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors, fostering their professional growth, guidance to junior staff to achieve experience relevant to RICS APC.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Dealing with all aspects of cost management.
  • Conducts performance reviews for team members and recommends areas for improvement
  • Ensuring the quality and timeliness of service delivery to Clients and build Client’s confidence

Cost Planning and Control:

  • Active involvement on a number of projects in different sectors and providing cost planning, procurement and other quantity surveying services
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cost planning strategies for projects.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous cost control processes to monitor project expenditures and prevent budget overruns.
  • Competent knowledge of a range of project procurement options.
  • Leads the team in the timely valuation of the payments to the contractors, or subcontractors or suppliers and the closing of the final account.
  • Implement cost control measures to prevent overruns and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Regularly update cost reports and communicate financial status to project stakeholders

Cost Estimation:

  • Lead in the preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Analyse project requirements and specifications to determine the resources and costs involved.

Budget Management:

  • Lead in developing and managing project budgets throughout the construction process.
  • Monitor and control costs, ensuring that expenditures align with the approved budget including identifying additional services and advises of any variation to our Contract
  • Understanding UNIQ financial management procedures and achieves an effective and efficient administration of project accounts.
  • Assists in fee proposals for bids and/or preparation of fee submissions when required.

Contract Administration and Dispute Resolution:

  • Review, negotiate, and administer contracts with contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Handle and resolve contractual disputes and claims (commercial) in collaboration with legal and project management teams.
  • Familiarity of contractual obligations, breaches and procedures
  • Provide expertise in mediation or legal proceedings when necessary.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks related to cost and contract issues.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to enhance project success.
  • Provide guidance on risk management to project teams and stakeholders.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on project cost performance to senior management.
  • Provide accurate financial forecasts and projections based on project progress.

*Document Control:

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and contractual agreements.
  • Prepare regular reports for project stakeholders on cost performance and projections.

Client Communication:

  • Interact with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to address queries and provide cost-related information.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting their budgetary and financial expectations.
  • Managing the Client relationship and service delivery on a project delivery, in conjunction with the senior management
  • Assists in developing new business opportunities.

Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure that all quantity surveying activities align with legal and regulatory requirements.
